Bio-Oregon – Leading in Sustainability & Quality

All Bio-Oregon fish feeds are manufactured in mills that have achieved the following certifications:

At Bio-Oregon we are committed to supplying nutritious diets that are economically, ecologically, socially and culturally responsible. That is why our feed mills were the first in North America to achieve Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) certification. The BAP standard addresses environmental and social responsibility, animal welfare, food safety and traceability in a voluntary certification program.

GLOBAL G.A.P. is a standard for promoting economically, ecologically, socially and culturally responsible aquaculture. For more information on the Global G.A.P standard and how it is making a difference please visit: www.globalgap.org.

The SEA program coordinates sustainability actions in Bio-Oregon and our feed mills. SEA stands for Sustainable Economic Aquafeeds and is our commitment for improving the sustainability of aquaculture. To achieve this we will continue to increase the demands on our suppliers, increase feed efficiency, reduce our dependency on marine raw materials while reducing emissions, wastes and freight. In short: we will pursue and find solutions to environmental challenges.

Nutrace® is Bio-Oregon’s food safety and quality system. This unique concept integrates measures to ensure quality and safety from feed raw materials through to finished products. Nutrace® has five sections - Certified Quality, Ingredient Assessment and Management, Monitoring, Risk Management, and Tracking & Tracing.

FeedAssure® is a comprehensive feed safety management and certification program. It is a customized full HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) program of processes and controls that bring the highest safety standards to feed production.  FeedAssure® was the first feed industry HACCP program developed in North America and one of the first in the world.

ISO 9001:2000 is a set of standards designed to help organizations ensure that they meet the needs of customers and other stakeholders while meeting statutory and regulatory requirements. ISO 9001:2000 deals with the fundamentals of quality management systems, including the eight management principles upon which the family of standards is based. ISO 9001 deals with the requirements that organizations wishing to meet the standard must fulfill.

All Bio-Oregon fish feeds are packaged in 20 kilogram (44 pound) recyclable plastic bags. The bag material is Low Density Polyethylene (4-LDPE) and is readily recyclable at most recycling centers.
