Clear results obtained from a recent fish feed trial demonstrated the effectiveness of Bio-Oregon high protein diets in the categories of Fish Growth, Feed Conversion Rates (FCR) and Cost of Production in Rainbow Trout.

The seven month feed study conducted by the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission evaluated the performance of Rainbow Trout that were fed four different high protein diets manufactured by four feed companies including Bio-Oregon.

Results demonstrated the Bio-Oregon fed trout had significantly higher growth rates than the other three groups, lowest FCR and were more brightly colored both externally and in the fillets. The bagged feed costs were similar between the four feed manufactures; however the cost per pound of fish weight gained was the lowest for the Bio-Oregon fed trout.
