Following a successful fish feed trial with the Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission, Bio-Oregon has donated fish feed for the Pennsylvania Trout in the Classroom (TIC) project.
TIC is an environmental education program where students in grades 3 - 12 learn about coldwater conservation while raising Trout from eggs to fingerlings in a classroom aquarium and then releasing them into local streams. The unique project is in cooperation between the Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission, Pennsylvania Trout Unlimited and the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
Bio-Oregon has been chosen as the sole feed contributor to the project, providing BioVita Starter, a premium fish feed with high levels of fish meal and fish oil.
Brian Niewinski from the Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission made a special Bio-Oregon presentation to the volunteers of the project educating them about the fish feed. Amidea Daniel TIC Coordinator says, “They enjoyed the day thoroughly and were overly excited about Bio-Oregon donating all the food for TIC this year! Bio-Oregon wishes great success to the TIC project and looks forward to working together in the coming years.
